Fulton Celebrates the City’s Polish Heritage

“People will have the opportunity to celebrate their real or adopted Polish heritage,” said John Kruk, chairman of the Fulton Polish Fest Committee. “We will have live music, a dance troupe and great Polish food, including golabki, pierogi and kielbasa. Medicaid Fraud Efforts Start to Pay Off

Medicaid fraud detection efforts are starting to pay off.  It was recently reported that Onondaga County has recouped $1.8 million just in the last seven months after launching Medicaid fraud detection efforts.  In some cases, county workers detected provider fraud; investigators paired billing statements with care ordered by doctors.  When the records didn’t match, the district attorney was called in to prosecute.  In other instances, Medicaid recipients claimed they have no income but this was found to be untrue.

Over the past several months we’ve taken several steps to conserve and cut the operating costs of Oswego County government. Now is a good time to bring you up to date on these projects.

Optimism High Despite Tough Weather for Farmers

Driving through the district this past week I couldn’t help but notice a lot of corn being chopped and reflect on the season. I’ve seen a lot of nice crops out there, so I hope the season went well for most. I know it’s been an up and down year for many of us. The wet weather kept the pastures green and lush for grazing all summer long, but it made it difficult to dry hay.
