Fulton Common Council Unanimously Approves Zoning Change

The change will allow houses in the M-1 manufacturing zone that have been vacant for more than one year to once again be used as residential property. Prior to the approval of the resolution, those homes would have lost their residential status. Proponents say this will hopefully entice more people buy homes in Fulton.

CNY Arts Center celebrates grand opening of ARTs in the HeART Gallery

CNY Arts Center has been looking to expand for a while, and with the addition of CNY Arts Gallery, located at 47 First St., that goal is being realized. The original location of CNY Arts is at the State Street Church in Fulton and is a space where classes are held and the staff offices are located. “We didn’t have enough space for our artists to display work,” explained Bonnie McClellen, the gallery coordinator.

‘Cancer is a Drag Show’ brings some sparkle to a somber issue

Elektra Liquore channels her inner diva and had the crowd singing along to some of Cher's biggest hits.The Lakeside Winterguard hosted the ‘Cancer is a Drag Show’ at the American Foundry in Oswego. “All the raffle money gets donated to Relay for Life, plus the tips from the performers,” said the evening’s host Macy Parade. “The full amount is going to Relay for Life.” Over the course of the night seven drag queens and one drag king performed for the crowd. Each began on stage and then milled around the room collecting tips from fans.

When items are dropped off they’re sorted before being loaded into a trailer and weighed to see what United Way's donation will be.Cars lined up at Bullhead Point in Fulton on Saturday morning to drop off everything from TVs to irons during Senator Patty Ritchie’s Electronics Recycling Event. “People started coming before it was open today,” Senator Ritchie told Oswego County Today. The event also doubled as a donation for United Way of Oswego County.

If he wins there – he’s bound for the world competition in London. “What’s unique about SkillsUSA, is that it’s the only student organization that has business and industry partners,” said Ron Camp, director of Career and Technical Education and Alternative Programs.

Fulton Board of Education Approves New Scholarship

In January 2012, the death of Brian Dodge came as a shock to the Fulton City School District. Dodge retired in 2010 after 32 years teaching Health Education, as well as coaching boys’ cross-country. At Tuesday’s board of education meeting the board unanimously approved the implementation of the Brian Dodge Memorial Scholarship Award.
