Ballot Count Starts Today

11th districtBeginning this morning, the Oswego County Board of Elections will start to count paper ballots that were submitted for the 2007 General Election. First on deck, the two candidates for the 11th District seat on the Oswego County Legislature will find out if the incumbent’s apparent loss from last week stands. Of the 12 races that will be counted today, the legislative district that primarily covers the town of Volney was the only legislative seat in the lineup.

weston teaseRepresenting the only Democratic win in Tuesday’s election for seats on the Fulton Common Council, longtime Third Ward alderman Robert Weston says he is confident that the council will continue to place people before party over the next two years. Weston won his bid for reelection Tuesday against challenger Wayne Hanson by a more than two to one margin. He was the only Democrat to top a GOP candidate for a seat on the common council.
