The Common Council will consider a resolution next week to hire an organization to help create a plan to upgrade the Eastside Wastewater Treatment Plant so it meets DEC requirements. Mayor Billy Barlow requested council consideration of a pact regarding an Assessment Management Plan for the plant. The plan will enable the city to move forward responsibly with upgrades to the facility.

SUNY Oswego Metro Center will host a comprehensive information session from 3 to 6 p.m. June 16, for students interested in completing a degree at the college’s downtown Syracuse location — and for students or parents interested in any Oswego program. Admission is free, and light refreshments will be served.
Simba was rescued from the mean streets of Oswego but she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Instead she is a friendly and pretty young lady who loves belly rubs and lounging around nice and safe in her foster home. She is getting used to the other cats and dogs in her foster home, but she wants a nice safe home of her own.

Passage of the two state bills would correct a problem caused by five of its members not signing their oath of office cards in time. The Minority opposed the measure calling it a political favor for a select few. The vote was split along party lines.

A handful of city residents attended a workshop Wednesday evening to help create the future of the Route 104 corridor in the Port City. It provided participants an opportunity to take part in hands-on interactive exercises to identify issues of concern and develop priorities related to streetscape design and more. The Complete Streets plan could be started around March 2017.
