Superintendent Ben Halsey updated the board of education Tuesday night regarding three county-wide programs. The Oswego superintendent is part of a sub-committee developing programs with CiTi to better enhance and collaboratively serve the different student populations in the districts in the county. There were three programs in particular the group was focusing on. Two of the three are up and running.
Mayor Tom Gillen has announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency is preparing new coastal studies and risk analysis for Oswego County. The engineering firm Risk Assessment Mapping and Planning Partners (RAMPP) will be performing land use reconnaissance surveys for these new coastal studies. These studies are for the entire shoreline along Lake Ontario within Oswego County.

A total of $345,000 had been budgeted and passed for Fire Department overtime. That was divided into $145,000 for department overtime; $100,000 for codes and the remaining $100,000 was moved to an overtime contingency account. The chief requested the contingency funds be returned to his department’s budget. The full council will vote on it at its next meeting.

Often, in the faded and worn memories of most, there is a thing or place from their past that remains miraculously unaltered. This memory for many in Pulaski , NY, and the surrounding area, is the Kallet Theater. Originally known to locals as a beloved art deco movie theater, the Kallet has been an historical artifact of sorts, recording more than a hundred years of time with its foundation – more than a hundred years worth of first dates to the movie theater and hanging out with friends.

On Thursday (June 11), at approximately 5:20 p.m., investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force and Oswego City Police Department acted on information regarding a possible methamphetamine lab at 196 E. Second St., Oswego. Investigators spoke with occupants of the residence and received consent to search. Materials and equipment utilized to manufacture methamphetamine were observed within the home as well as a garage on the property, according to police.
