State Police Investigate Bank Robbery in Mexico

State Police in Pulaski today (June 11) are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the Pathfinder Bank located at 3361 Main St., Mexico. A white male entered the Pathfinder Bank at approximately 1:35 p.m., handed the teller a note and left the bank on foot. The suspect is described as 6′ tall, 170 pounds, with a mustache and facial hair.

Hotel Construction To Start Soon In Oswego

Oswego Mayor Tom Gillen has announced that Branch Commercial, a Malone, NY-based hotel development company, will begin construction in the next two weeks of a new, 81-room Holiday Inn Express and Suites in the City of Oswego. The site of the new Holiday Inn Express is located adjacent and to the north of the Ruby Tuesday restaurant on Route 104, east of the downtown business corridor.

Tall Ships Visit to Oswego is Canceled

The H. Lee White Maritime Museum has announced that the Columbus Foundation replica tall ships Nina and Pinta visit to Oswego has been cancelled. “Unfortunately, the ships will not be able to visit the historic port of Oswego this June due to construction work under way on the Oswego breakwall and the required staging on the west pier,” said Mercedes Niess, the museum’s executive director.

Council OKs Use of Park To Host Benefit For Julian Ross

At its meeting Monday night, the Common Council approved use of public space for the Ross family. Julian Ross was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma on August 4, 2011. He was put on Hospice care this spring. Julian will be coming home soon and his family requested use of the park pavilion to honor their son.
