The Oswego County Comets Motorcycle Riding Club invites you to attend the fourth annual Bug Run to benefit the MSGW Foundation, Inc. The foundation is a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation organized after the tragic death of five-year-old Maggie Sue Glenister Wilcox of New Haven, who died in August of 2011 from the deadly Eastern Equine Encephalitis Virus.
Gee is a big sleek black grown up cat who is totally handsome. He does, however, come with some goofy tendencies. He’s often seen with his tongue sticking out and he loves to chase the broom and roll in the dust pile before his foster mom gets a chance to get it into the dust pan. He likes the top of the cat tree for a little peace and quiet, but he is in the thick of things when the play begins.
“This budget process was the last year, by New York State legislation, that we were allowed to use those machines,” the superintendent said. “We will be going to the digital scanning voting process for next year.” That will add a new financial burden; to either rent or buy the modern voting machines. To save money, the district may eliminate a polling site that has historically had very low voter turnout.

May 2015 was a lot warmer than average and a tad drier, according to Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service. The average temperature was 5.8 degrees higher than average. And, total precipitation came in at 0.06-inch below normal.
At a joint press conference this morning, June 2, District Attorney Greg Oakes was joined by members of the New York State Police to announce the results of a large investigation into the sale of illegal drugs. The drugs were allegedly being sold, many in plain sight, at the annual Sterling Stage FolkFest Music Festival, the DA said. The drugs are valued at “tens of thousands” of dollar; some individual types of drugs were estimated to be worth $10,000 to $15,000, according to State Police.

Many of Oswego’s sidewalks need to be replaced. But when and how is still open for debate. Councilors Monday night said they have begun working on proposals for an updated policy. No action was taken at the meeting and discussions will continue.
