The Buc School, lower level, at the Education Center, 120 E. First St., will host an open house Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. Over the past several weeks, Buc students and parents have spoken out against the district’s plan to close the site and re-introduce the students into the traditional school setting at the middle and high school this fall.

The Common Council took a stand against the Bridge Street Run. Councilors voted to waive the rules of the council and add two resolutions at the end of Monday night’s meeting without having them discussed at committee first. Councilors voted unanimously to ban the Bridge Street Run as well as bill SUNY Oswego to cover the city’s cost related to the event.

Four of the five candidates for the three Oswego school board seats fielded questions from the public Monday night. The Home and School Associations of the school district and the OCTA (Oswego Classroom Teachers’ Association) hosted a “meet the Candidates” forum at the Oswego Middle School Theater.
