The tentative spending plan for the coming year is $34,574,842 for all funds. That is an increase of 14.2 percent compared to the original fiscal year 2013 budget of $30,112,264. The mayor says a tax increase might hurt now. “But, if we don’t do it, it’s going to hurt a whole lot more down the road,” he added.

At this week’s council meeting, Councilor Shawn Walker announced a change in the speed limit along East First Street from East Bridge to East Utica. It will now be 25 mph along that stretch of road.

The public is invited to join Chabad of Oswego with Rabbi Yossi Madvig and his wife, Chana, and their family, with the Honorable Mayor Tom Gillen and Mrs. Gillen and the city of Oswego in the celebration of lights at City Hall on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Merrick James Buck was born in Oswego Hospital on Nov. 25, 2013.
