The Common Council pulled a resolution from Monday’s agenda that would have imposed a two-hour parking limit on parts of West Mohawk Street. They are working jointly with Oswego Hospital to alleviate the problem. However, that didn’t stop two residents from speaking out against the plan.

In his final regular meeting as Interim Superintendent of Schools, Gary Mix talked about concern about some of the recent educational changes that have been implemented by the State Education Department and the importance of tenure. “Granting tenure acknowledges performance, awareness of greater potential, confidence in that he educator will continue to grow to be a very positive role model for our students,” Mix said. It doesn’t signal that things get easier, he added. He went onto explain the things the district is doing regarding implementing the Common Core

November is National Runaway Prevention Month. Washington Square Park (East Park) is being used by Oswego County Opportunities this month in order to raise awareness about runaways and the homeless. A group of volunteers braved the elements recently to drive home the seriousness of the situation in Oswego County.
