The heat and humidity will be back for the weekend. But – will showers return as well?
Dozens of people and organizations have plenty of stuff – ready to cram it all into a school bus in support of the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s annual Stuff-A-Bus campaign. The United Way will have buses at eight convenient locations around the county on Aug. 10 so people can drop off their donations.
Several requests to use public space were sent to the full council for consideration. Among them is a parking plan that will assist developers in rehabilitating the former Cahill’s building and property.
OK, we got the rain out of our system. Now for a nice stretch.

The average temperature last month was 74.0 degrees. That is 3.2 degrees warmer than normal. “That makes it the seventh warmest July since 1845,” according to Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service. “Last July wound up number six; it was 74.1.”

The Community Development staff joined the Lee family recently in front of their new home in Oswego, to celebrate the 100th family to participate in the city of Oswego’s Affordable Home Ownership Program.

The United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Stuff-A-Bus Campaign went into high gear recently when Burritt Motors of Oswego presented the agency with a check to help purchase additional school supplies for the campaign.
