Jury Seated For Alan Jones’ Murder Trial

UPDATED: Jury selection was completed Tuesday  in the trial of the Palermo man charged with killing his stepsister last August. Alan Jones is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Erin Maxwell. Opening statements are set for Wednesday.

Child Struck By Vehicle Has Died

The Oswego City Police Department learned Friday morning that two-year-old Armondo Sciacca has died as a result of injuries he suffered in Wednesday’s incident in which he was struck by a motor vehicle on West Cayuga Street in the city of Oswego.

Barboni Sentenced To 25-Life

Jay John Barboni was sentenced this morning (Sept. 4) to 25 years to life for murdering a child. Barboni, 31, formerly of Falcon Drive, Liverpool, was convicted early last month of second-degree murder, a class A felony, and first-degree manslaughter, a class B felony.

Police ID Driver Of Vehicle That Struck Child

The 21-year-old Utica resident wasn’t aware he hit the child and couldn’t see the two-year-old due to the child’s positioning. The toddler is in critical condition. No tickets have been issued.

County’s Camp Zerbe Restoration Considered

Police Investigating Injuries To Toddler

At about 3:48 p.m. Wednesday, Oswego police officers and rescue personnel from the Oswego City Fire Department were dispatched to 136 W. Cayuga St. regarding a serious injury to a toddler. The toddler may have been struck by a passing vehicle which left the scene prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.
