The Harborfest Children’s Committee hosted a Children’s Gala to celebrate the festival’s cultural component – the history of Oswego. The organization was formed in 2002 to honor the local men who fought in the Battle of the Bulge and keep alive the memories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, according to chairman John Canale. He describes the members of the group as “patriots” and “heroes.” This fall, they will start offering a scholarship to an OHS senior who will be entering the armed forces.
