As soon as he was introduced by Principal Jean Sampsell, scores of students erupted in cheer as they recognized the singer from the popular music reality television show.
While they learned about Australian culture and music, Mexico Elementary School students also received character trait education during the recent “Didgeridoo Down Under” performance. The students in grades kindergarten through four filed into the cafeteria to find several life lessons and surprises in the interactive show.
The crowd packed the Ralph Fraust Theatre of the Performing Arts at Oswego High School to hear Christmas classics and joyous tunes from several chorus, band and orchestra performances.
T-r-u-c-u-l-e-n-t-l-y. That was the word student Autumn Warring spelled correctly to win the Mexico Middle School spelling bee after she edged out 14 competitors in the final MMS rounds held recently in the auditorium.
A decade-long partnership between the Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club and the Phoenix Central School District continued this year with the annual dictionary giveaway. Rotarians visited with third graders to discuss the service organization and teach students how to get the most out of the dictionaries they received.
