Nicole Covell has always been data-driven. A passion for strategizing led her to the Director of Data and Response to Intervention position within the Phoenix Central School District. Since her appointment in early 2016, Covell has immersed herself in data verification for state reporting, including requirements for teacher certifications.

The first competition of the season for the Oswego County Academic Youth (OCAY) League brought teams of students who are creative, possess time management and collaboration skills as well as strengths in the following areas: physics, engineering, art, performing arts, biology, sports medicine, history, popular culture, photography and video editing.

Students at Hastings-Mallory Elementary recently introduced a very special visitor to their school. Published poet Rachel Guido deVries worked with fourth and fifth grade students to help them learn how to tap into their poetic creativity.
Boasting a score of 91.1 at the USBANDS competition in Massachusetts, they achieved the highest score of all ten bands that were competing at the show. The next day, they fought through the remnants of Hurricane Matthew and secured yet another first place victory at the New York State Field Band Conference competition at Arlington High School with an 85.7 total score.
Local Reality Check members from Fulton Central School District and Syracuse Central School District will travel to Marcellus to join other New York State Reality Check members on the ropes at Orenda Springs Experiential Learning Center. The members will be participating with one hundred other Reality Check youth members from across New York State.
