A full day of events is planned at North Volney Methodist Church on May 7 and you won’t want to miss any of the fun. A free gospel concert will be held from noon to 3 p.m.

Students at Volney Elementary were recently honored during a school assembly for exhibiting perseverance during the month of March. Principal Todd Terpening presented awards to 20 students after their teachers recognized them for never giving up on tasks or assignments in class.

Fairgrieve Elementary students were recognized during a Morning Express program for exhibiting the school’s character education trait of perseverance throughout the month of March. Classroom teachers selected students for the honor based on their continued dedication to their classroom work and personal tasks or goals.

The eighth graders are participating in a program called the Memory Project, in which art students receive a photo of a child who has faced various challenges.

Compass Federal Credit Union and Oswego Heritage Federal Credit Union announced today (April 1) that the merger between their two credit unions has been finalized. Operational integration will be completed by August 1.
