The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation’s dental assisting class recently visited Noah’s Christian Nursery School in Fulton to educate preschoolers on the importance of brushing their teeth. The students used creative tools to capture the attention of the children while also teaching an important lesson.
The Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation is gearing up for a substitute recruitment day March 31 to help fulfill the needs of schools throughout the area. School districts are currently in need of substitute clerical workers, teachers, aides, transportation employees, custodial staff, teacher assistants and food service workers.
Numerous occupations were represented at G. Ray Bodley’s Second Annual Career Day, where students had the opportunity to explore career options and speak with professionals in the field. Representatives from all fields such as health, government and business gave presentations on what a typical day looks like for them.
Hannibal Home and School has teamed with the Life Skills class for a fundraising campaign to benefit all students in the district. As part of the auction-style fundraiser, community members can bid on 13 different storage boxes that students built in class.
Three students from Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District received awards for two Veterans of Foreign Wars writing contests: the Patriot’s Pen and the Voice of Democracy.
Talent, fashion and personality were on display in the John C. Birdlebough High School auditorium recently as 13 students vied for the title of Mr. Phoenix. The male pageant, which served as a fundraiser for the sophomore class, yielded plenty of laughter throughout the evening.
John C. Birdlebough High School students Matti Gleason and Daniel Knowlton recently represented the Phoenix Central School District by participating in the New York State Band Director’s annual High School Honor Band.
The Fulton First United Methodist Church Men’s Club will present a pancake breakfast from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 20. The menu includes pancakes, sausage links, scrambled eggs, dessert, and assorted beverages.
Students in the Project Explore program at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation are working hard to reap sweet rewards of their maple syrup unit. Both AM and PM participants have spent the last several weeks tapping trees under the direction of KC Jones, alternative education teacher.
A field trip to SUNY Oswego has empowered Exceptional Education students at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation to explore the whole college experience.
