New York Sea Grant shares clean and safe boating tips as the new Discover Clean & Safe Boating educational vessel travels to venues throughout Upstate New York through the 2014 boating season.
Students enrolled in the Public Safety and Justice Program at Oswego County BOCES met two very special four-legged members of the New York State Police K9 Unit and learned that the phrase, “man’s best friend” is no cliché.
Novelis, which also has other unfair labor practice charges pending before the NLRB related to its interference in the effort to unionize its 600 hourly workers, is charged with illegally threatening job loss, plant closure, wage reductions and with providing benefits to employees in order to dissuade them from voting to join the USW.

On April 24 a team of staff members and volunteers from ARISE’s Oswego offices arrived at Rowlee Beach Park in Fulton to help clean up the park. As a result, the playground is now safer for children to play in.
At a time that should be for celebration as we send new graduates out into the world to productive lives and careers, it is unfortunate that recent events have brought us such grief. Speaking for the college and our students, I wish to express our deep appreciation to the city police and fire departments for their professionalism and dedication and the important life-saving and peace-keeping services they have supplied in pursuit of their duties, qualities that were unequivocally demonstrated this past weekend.
Simple acts of kindness can brighten another person’s day, are often an inspiration, and have the power to create a positive ‘pay it forward’ movement. A shining example of this is a random acts of kindness project that was coordinated by Maureen Bennett’s class at Oswego County BOCES.
Students at Lanigan Elementary School recently celebrated the completion of their Common Core ELA and Mathematics testing with an afternoon of swimming at Granby pool.
On Friday, May 9, the Granby Elementary Parent Teacher Group hosted its annual Mother’s Day Social.
