The Fulton City School District in cooperation with the river’s end bookstore in Oswego participated on April 23 in an international literacy and reading initiative known as World Book Night.
The following Fulton City School District students were named to the G. Ray Bodley High School High Honor Roll and Honor Roll for the third quarter of the 2012-2013 academic year:
Construction at St. Francis Commons Assisted Living Residence in Oswego has moved indoors. While crews complete roofing, window and exterior siding installation, framing work, drywall, plumbing fixtures and electrical conduit are being installed to the interior of the residence.
North Volney Methodist Church will host a free gospel concert on May 18 featuring the 4Given Strangers. This is an experienced group of singers that have appeared in many places in Central New York.
Pat found a black and white female cat which had been hit by an auto within 3 miles south of North Country Veterinary Hospital on the morning of April 23. He took it to North Country (where he had just been with Earl Gray Cat, which suffered a similar injury) so is now having it treated for head injury and a broken hind leg.
Eleven speakers from across the U.S. and Canada explored a variety of War of 1812 topics, including military training and battle analysis, maritime and military archeology, naval history, wartime society and commerce, espionage, and the art of war. Participants also discovered engaging exhibits, living history demonstrators and historical authors who presented and signed their works.
The 25th annual Severe Hazards Awareness Week will be observed in Oswego County and throughout the state April 28 through May 4. As part of its educational campaign, Oswego County Emergency Management Acting Director Terry Bennett reminds residents of the precautions they should take when hazardous weather conditions are predicted.
There will be a bingo marathon on June 2 to benefit Friends of the Pulaski Public Library. It will be held at the American Legion Post 358, 3350 Maple Ave., Pulaski.
Taylor Mahle turns 7 on May 12. She will celebrate with friends and family at Lakeview Lanes in Fulton.
