New York Sea Grant has awarded rapid response funding to Cornell University to develop and conduct a standardized high water impact survey in the areas along southern and eastern Lake Ontario. This effort is in response to stakeholder requests for a standardized method to collect data on the impacts of high water levels on waterfront properties.
The Oswego County Health Department will hold its next rabies clinic June 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the West Monroe Town Highway Garage, 46 County Route 11, West Monroe. All dogs, ferrets, and cats, including pets that remain indoors, must be vaccinated against rabies.
The Central New York Area Health Education Center encourages students to apply for the Medical Academy of Science and Health (M.A.S.H.) Camp at Oswego Hospital, a two-day experience that introduces students to careers in healthcare through fun, interactive workshops.

The Fulton Elks held a May Day Fair and Bike Giveaway in celebration of youth. The Fulton Elks #830 gave away 16 bikes, a boy and girl bike for grades preschool through sixth grade.

In commemoration of D-Day, the World War II battle that took place along the shores of Normandy, France, the H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego will be offering special guided tours of the National Historic Landmark WWII Tug, LT-5 on June 10 from 1 – 4:30 p.m. LT-5 is a D-Day veteran, and provided logistical support for ground troops as part of Operation Mulberry.
