Dispose of Unwanted Waste Tires at No Cost on May 13, June 17

“With the weather changing, many homeowners are cleaning up debris, such as unwanted waste tires, that can act as a breeding ground for mosquitoes that carry deadly diseases, like EEE,” said Senator Ritchie. “I’m pleased to once again partner with Oswego County officials to ‘fight the bite’ and offer this free service to residents as a way to not only beautify our region, but also to protect public health.”

Bodley Students Receive NYSED Scholarships

The New York State Education Department recently honored seven G. Ray Bodley High School students with college scholarships because of their academic achievement. Each recipient received an award letter from NYSED Commissioner MaryElen Elia, who joined the New York State Board of Regents in congratulating the GRB students on their success.

Oswego County Historical Society Meeting To Host Presentation of ‘Grand Old Homes of Oswego – Gone and Forgotten’

The Oswego County Historical Society will host its annual meeting presentation on May 21 at 1:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the historic Oswego Public Library at 120 E. Second St. During the membership meeting, board president Justin White will present a brief annual report of the projects and events of the year. Immediately following, White will give a special encore presentation of the program entitled “Grand Old Homes of Oswego – Gone & Forgotten.”

Zonta Selects Billie Crandall Brady for 2017 Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Award

For 32 years, the Zonta Club of Oswego has presented the prestigious Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Award to a woman who has dedicated herself to her community and who serves as a role model for young women. This year, the 33rd Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Award recipient is the late Billie Crandall Brady, who served the community tirelessly for more than 28 years.
