The Mexico Trailriders (PO Box 564, Mexico) is once again planning its annual chicken barbeque to be held on May 7 at Mexico VFW.

University Police at SUNY Oswego will deploy special patrols starting April 15 to look for motorists who are not wearing their seatbelts as part of the annual Buckle-Up Day & Night campaign. Funded by a grant through the state Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, the seatbelt patrols will operate through April 29.

John C. Birdlebough High School students offered beautiful sounds and music during the culturally-infused Spring Choral Concert. Attendees were treated to performances by the concert chorus, chamber singers, and the Phoenix Firebirds Percussion Ensemble.

The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.

Second year cosmetology students at the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation have begun planning for their future. In the final quarter of their Career and Technical Education program, the cosmetology students will study business plans and develop one of their own.

The “6 Steps To Better Balance” class; a six-step approach to Better Balance, was developed by Betty Perkins-Carpenter, Ph.D., Senior Fitness Productions.

During the week of April 10 – 16, communities and victim service providers across the United States hosted events and campaigns in recognition of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. The goal of this awareness week is to promote victims’ rights and honor crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf.

Oswego Renaissance Association founder and director Paul Stewart was this week’s guest at Oswego Rotary. Stewart updated members on the 2016 grants currently available to residents who qualify living in the city of Oswego.
