As part of the “Oswego Lighthouse: A Community Arts Project,” the H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego will host a youth art workshop entitled “Sailor Sam Saves the Lighthouse! Intro to Illustration” on April 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. in partnership with the Children’s Museum of Oswego. This event is appropriate for children ages 5 to10 years old.

The Oswego County Historical Society will host the first lecture of the 2016 lecture series on April 17 at 1:30 p.m. at the Richardson-Bates House Museum at 135 E. Third St. The presentation by will be given by Rick Sivers on the history of the Richardson Theater. The event is free and open to the public.
Students at Granby Elementary School in Fulton have been studying about animals and their habitat. During their unit of study, they learned about what it takes to be a good animal caretaker and learned about organizations in their area that support homeless animals.
I know we are getting close to flea season again, even though it doesn’t look it outside my window. Sigh. But I was wondering what you think about the importance of flea control for pets. I have been using various treatments for years and honestly, it has been a long time since I actually saw a flea anywhere near any of my pets.
