At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Donna Kestner introduced Katrina Scanlon-Ludwigsen, who is a nurse at the Veterans’ Administration clinic, Oswego location. She spoke about the Honor Flight, where she is a very active volunteer.
In lieu of exchanging Christmas gifts with their classmates, the second grade students support the local animal shelter by bringing in donations of pet food and supplies.
In this giving time of the year thoughts often turn to making the holiday season a little more enjoyable for those in need. For the Oswego County Board of Realtors helping area homeless youth is its mission for the season.
Legislature Chairman Kevin Gardner presented long-time legislator Michael K. Kunzwiler with a plaque to recognize his service to the county.
The Fulton Veterans Council attended the November meeting of the Oswego County Legislature where it presented a plaque to the governing body in appreciation of its support for veterans and their families.
The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
Rev. John Hogan, Pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Oswego presented representatives from the Oswego County Children’s Fund and Frederick Leighton Elementary School with a truckload of toys and gifts that St. Mary’s parishioners graciously donated for less fortunate children in Oswego and throughout the county.
Local non-profit family service providers got a welcome holiday gift recently as Nine Mile Point announced several charitable donations to benefit the local community.
When it comes to celebrating the holiday season, enjoying a Christmas dinner with friends is as anticipated as presents under the Christmas tree. Unfortunately, for many of Oswego County Opportunities’ consumers the thought of actually having a festive Christmas dinner may not be a possibility.
