Members of VEGA, SUNY Oswego’s Junior and Senior Women’s Honors Society, recently hosted a walk-a-thon in support of the United Way of Greater Oswego County. The walk-a-thon raised more than $600 towards the United Way’s Community Fund.

As of this fall, the United Baptist Church of Scriba, with the aid of others in the community, has been implementing a Blessings in a Backpack program for 50 students at the New Haven Elementary School.

With the fall production of Oliver onstage, CNY Arts Center celebrates the first anniversary of its strategic partnership and shared location with Cayuga Community College.

The Oswego County Legislature recognized October 15 as National White Cane Safety Day to promote awareness, education and advocacy for issues that affect individuals with a vision impairment which requires them to carry a white cane.

The First United Methodist Church of Fulton will hold its annual craft show on November 28 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the church’s Fellowship Hall. The event is free of charge and open to the public.

The village of Hannibal is holding its 12th annual Country Christmas on Nov. 21 and 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local businesses hold their annual open houses including vendors, food and wine tastings, craft shows, and more. Live music, carolers, and other activities will take over the village.

The Guidance Department of G. Ray Bodley High School in the Fulton City School District will again host its annual “Financial Aid Night” for students and their parents or guardians on December 8 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

The Friends of Oswego County Hospice will host its fifth annual “Lights of Remembrance” memorial tree lighting on Dec. 3 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Eis House on Academy Street in Mexico.

The 5K professionally timed Family Run/Walk is less than a week away. The event will be held November 15 at 12:30 p.m. at 22 Munn St., The Ancient Order of Hibernians.
