The breakfast, sponsored by Eagle Beverage and The Club House Tavern, with additional sponsorship from Dahl’s Diner and Sithe Energy, will be held July 25 from 8 – 11:30 a.m., at The Clubhouse Tavern, 126 W. Second St. in Oswego.
CNY Arts Center July Writers’ Café will meet at the downtown Arts in the Heart Studio at 47 S. First St. on July 26. The group is open to the public and meets from 6-8 p.m. for writers interested in sharing their work or others who just listen and give positive feedback.
One of the many scholarships the Fulton Noon Rotary Club gives each year to graduating seniors of Fulton High School is the Sylvia and Sandy Squires Scholarship. This year’s winner was Madden Rowlee.
The H. Lee White Maritime Museum presents “Tales of the Haunted Harbor: Myths, Legends and Lighthouse Stories” on August 14, at 7:30 p.m., gates open with pre-show activities. The public is invited to join us at the historic Derrick Boat 8 for a night of mysteries, myths and ghost stories.
In February, the County of Oswego Council on Alcoholism and Addictions received funding from the New York Council on Problem Gambling to participate in the YOU(th) Decide project to work to prevent underage gambling in Oswego County.
Volunteers will gather at the home of Dick and Naneen Drosse, 16 Hickory Grove Spur, Fulton, at 10 a.m. Aug. 1, to pull water chestnut plants on the Oswego River near Battle Island. The public is invited to participate.
Testing of new emergency notification sirens installed by Exelon Generation and Entergy Nuclear will be held July 28. All sirens will be activated for three minutes at approximately 10 a.m. that day.
Students who completed the requirements for bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees and certificates of advanced study in the summer or fall of 2014 or the spring of 2015 at SUNY Oneonta participated in three main ceremonies in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House.
The Oswego County Department of Social Services needs foster parents for children of all ages, newborn to 21. Foster parents provide a safe place for children to stay and serve as role models for the children placed in their care, and their parents.
