Sixty graduating seniors at G. Ray Bodley High School were recently congratulated for achieving high honor status throughout their four years of high school during a special ceremony. Students who achieved a four-year cumulative average of at least 89.5 percent qualified for high honor academic status.
Lanigan Elementary fifth graders dressed the part of historical figures like George Washington, Jane Goodall and Harriet Tubman for a real-life museum.
Pulaski Middle School students selected eighth grade social studies teacher Jordan Fahnestock as the 2015 Middle School Educator of the Year. While Fahnestock earned the most votes, every teacher in the middle school received at least one vote, according to Jill Truax, teacher and student government association adviser.
The agenda of the June 18 Living with the Ever-Changing Lake Ontario Dunes Public Information Workshop includes a lightning round of information stations at the Selkirk Shores State Park Pavilion. Ted Long and Amy Robbins from 93Q WNTQ radio station in Syracuse visited Fairley Elementary in Hannibal for their annual celebration day. The celebration day serves as a reward to the students for all of their hard work throughout the year. The day is complete with fun outdoor games, competitions and face painting.
The Fulton Youth Team Tennis League will start accepting registrations for players ages 13-19. Players are assigned to a team for six regular matches, a semi-final match and championships.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Cayla Weaver was presented with a scholarship to help further her education. Cayla will be attending Onondaga Community College to study Health Information Technology.
Each year, the Oswego Players, Inc., award scholarships to deserving high school graduates in the area. This year, two scholarships were awarded to students moving on to higher education in the broad field of the arts. Awards went to Isabel Engelbrekt and Jeri Ann Barber.
To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.
