Master Artist-Teacher Don Gillespie Comes Home to Fulton at CNY Arts Center

CNY Arts Center is honored to announce a collaboration with Fulton native artist Don Gillespie this summer to include an exhibit of his work and a guest appearance as Master Teacher at ARTY Camp. “Kindred Spirits,” an exhibit celebrating Central New York’s rich art heritage, will open June 30 and run through August 21 with a kickoff reception July 1 from 6-8 p.m. at CNY Arts Center’s gallery, 11 River Glen Drive on the CCC campus.

The New York State Senate just passed a bill sponsored by Senator Terrence Murphy intended to prevent those who abuse animals from committing similar acts in the future. “Animal cruelty is a key indicator of future violence toward human victims, and yet under current law repeat offenders only face misdemeanor charges,” Murphy said.

2,700 Local Seniors Now Eligible For Free Produce at Farmers’ Markets

Senator Patty Ritchie announced that funding she included in this year’s state budget will provide free farm-fresh fruits and vegetables from area farmers’ markets to 2,700 seniors from Jefferson, Oswego and St. Lawrence counties, as a way to boost nutrition and healthy eating, while at the same time helping to strengthen the bottom lines of New York farmers.

County Board of Realtors Scholarships Awarded; Grimshaw Urges Hope

Three Oswego County teens are on their way to four more years of school, study and hard work, and the Oswego County Board of Realtors gave them a boost to help them get there. Joshua Lococo from Sandy Creek High School, Kylee Bartlett from APW Junior Senior High School, and Katheryn Wood from the Paul V. Moore High School in Central Square, were announced as the 18th Annual OCBR Annual Scholarship recipients.
