Oswego High School Students Christopher VanGorder, Taylor Hamer, Courtney Osmun and Ryan Smith, along with their instructor Robert Dumas, were honored recently by the Oswego City School District Board of Education for their selection and participation in the National Association for Music Education All-Eastern Honors Chorus.

DeSanto was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society, and also received the George F. Gill Prize in Pediatrics.

On Oct. 27, Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training and SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, will gather women from across New York State for Connections, a day-long conference to be held at the Lake Ontario Event & Conference Center in Oswego from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Women employees and business owners need inspiration, ideas, information, and other women to network with.

After months of interviews and consideration of each candidate’s qualifications and experience, the committee has voted to endorse the following candidates for the positions that are to be filled in the 2015 fall elections:

Senator Patty Ritchie announced that funding she included in this year’s state budget will provide free farm-fresh fruits and vegetables from area farmers’ markets to 2,700 seniors from Jefferson, Oswego and St. Lawrence counties, as a way to boost nutrition and healthy eating, while at the same time helping to strengthen the bottom lines of New York farmers.

Three Oswego County teens are on their way to four more years of school, study and hard work, and the Oswego County Board of Realtors gave them a boost to help them get there. Joshua Lococo from Sandy Creek High School, Kylee Bartlett from APW Junior Senior High School, and Katheryn Wood from the Paul V. Moore High School in Central Square, were announced as the 18th Annual OCBR Annual Scholarship recipients.
