CNY Arts Center is excited to announce the next Dessert Theatre event will host master storyteller Matthew Wood and singer-songwriter Gina Holsopple onstage July 18 at 8 p.m. Dessert Theatre Series offers an evening of special desserts and entertainment for one admission price at CNY Arts Center, River Glen Drive on the Cayuga Community College Campus.
Mexico Academy and Central Schools has started a Summer Food Service Program that will include a free lunch at the Mexico High School cafeteria for children up to 18 years of age until August 21. The meal must be consumed on site and will also be available to children with special needs up to 21 years of age.
The Open Doors Neighborhood Center is sponsoring Fulton Idol for ages 10 through 15. Individuals and groups may participate. This is a singing event. The dates are July 13-17, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Friends of Fort Ontario will host a free sunset yoga class on the windswept ramparts of the historic stone Fort Ontario fortification at 8 p.m. July 15. Yoga instructor Carissa Gaylord will lead the class, which will be taught at a beginner level with intermediate variations available to those with more experience.
Ahoy Maties! The H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego is swabbing the decks for a hearty bit of pirate carousing. Brush off your eye patch, grab your parrot, tickets are now available for Kids’ Pirate Day set for July 16 from 1-3 p.m. or July 22 from 10 a.m. – noon.
The Pulaski Historical Society will have a “Cleaning the Attic” yard sale at the museum on July 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hot dogs (not from the attic) will be available for sale starting at 11 a.m., as well as lemonade (free with coupon).
SUNY Oswego recently awarded advanced degrees and certificates to more than 100 graduate students, including several area residents.
Dean’s List students are full-time students with a grade point average between 3.3 and 4.0.
