Herkimer College awarded academic honors to 480 students for the spring 2015 semester. Of those students awarded honors, 296 were named to the Dean’s List for earning a grade point average between 3.25 and 3.79.
Shakespeare returns to Central New York for a summer production of the classic comedy Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Amy C. Price and co-produced by the combined efforts of CNY Arts Center and Fulton Community Theatre. Auditions will be held on June 24, 25, 26, from 7 – 9 p.m.
The “Drop and Swap” is a sports equipment exchange in which gently used items can be donated at designated drop boxes and will be re-distributed to students who are interested in trying a sport but not necessarily ready to invest in the costly equipment that often comes with that sport.
Sonja Marie Robinson from the Oswego County Health Department recently spoke to the Fulton Noon Rotary Club on emergency preparedness. Rotarian Ray Czachor introduced Robinson to the club. She spoke about emergency preparedness for the general public.
Chris Halsey, a resident of Mexico, was one of 79 SUNY Potsdam student-athletes to earn a spot on the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Academic Team for the Spring semester, the conference announced on June 16.
The Oswego Rotary Club recently honored five graduating seniors of the Oswego City School District, and their parents, at lunch with scholarships and an Occupational Education Award. Club president Dr. Richard Tesoriero presented framed certificates to the $1,000 scholarship recipients and a check to the award recipient.

The week of June 21 – June 27, 2015 has been declared the 18th annual “National Mosquito Control Awareness Week” by the American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA), an organization dedicated to preserving the public’s health and well-being through safe, environmentally-sound mosquito control programs since 1935.
The Oswego Children’s Theater has completed casting for its next production, “Disney’s 101 Dalmatians Kids. The production is slated to be performed on July 17 at 7:30 p.m., July 18 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and July 19 at 2 p.m. in the theater performance space at the New Haven Congregational Church.
