Boys and girls interested in signing up to participate in the upcoming Fulton Little League season still have two opportunities to do so. Registration will be held on the next two Saturdays. The hours on Jan. 24 will be from 1 to 6 p.m. On Jan. 31, registration will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Oswego County Health Department is offering influenza immunization clinics for people age 19 and older at the Nick Sterio Public Health Clinic, 70 Bunner St., Oswego.

Students at Leighton Elementary School will Jump Rope for Heart on February 12 to benefit the American Heart Association. This year, however, there are some extra incentives for students to raise additional money for the annual event, according to Leighton School physical education teacher Ted Beers.

An ambitious idea to combine educational opportunities and resources has turned into a reality, as the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation and Cayuga Community College are embarking on a groundbreaking partnership. The two entities will unite as the Center for Career and Community Education, which will offer extensive programs to a variety of learners.

The cosmetology program at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation recently held an advisory committee meeting to discuss local labor markets, skills required for entry-level employees and new technologies.

On January 31 from 6 p.m. to midnight at the American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St., the Oswego County Humane Society will present The Faux Fur Ball. The event will feature a wine social hour with a cash bar, a three entrée buffet dinner, a silent auction with a lot of “necessities” to buy, and a scratch off lottery raffle.

CNY Arts Center is excited to announce Disney’s Olaf from the popular movie Frozen will be on hand January 31 for the fourth annual Snow Day. Kids and parents are encouraged to come meet Olaf, have pictures taken and join the family fun. The event is being held from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at CNY Arts Center. The center is located at 11 River Glen Plaza.

Oswego High School Art Students captured more than 40 awards recently at the annual Central New York Scholastic Art Competition. Several students were recognized for their artwork at an awards ceremony held on the Onondaga Community College campus in Syracuse.

Oswego County Legislature Chairman Kevin Gardner (District 13, New Haven) announced appointments to the County Legislature’s standing committees for 2015. The seven committees oversee departments of county government and make budgetary and policy recommendations to the full Legislature.
