The Children’s Board of Oswego presented a $500 check to the Oswego Public Library on October 30 in the Children’s Room. Their generous donation was the final piece in paying for an AWE Early Literacy Station added to the library.

Jolly Time Pop Corn announced that Galena Ojiem from Phoenix, NY, is one of 100 winners in its national grassroots program, Kernels of Kindness. The program pays tribute to those that make a difference through acts of kindness in their communities. Ojiem exemplifies the spirit of Kernels of Kindness and has won this award for her work to provide the homeless community with basic necessities.
The Fulton Lions Club has announced that they will be hosting their ninth annual chicken BBQ Feb. 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fulton Polish Home to benefit the club’s Mary and Harold H. Dowd Memorial Scholarship.

Gallaher and the band will be opening for the country artist Lee Brice on Thursday in Springfield, Illinois.

The G. Ray Bodley wrestling team visited Granby Elementary recently to talk about Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Head wrestling coach Jeffrey Waldron and varsity coach Jack Popper brought along four members of the wrestling team for the PBIS Assembly on Halloween.

Cold temperatures and a light drizzle didn’t deter students enrolled in the Public Safety and Justice Program at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation from receiving a powerful vehicle extrication lesson recently in the parking lot of CiTi’s Mexico campus. With the help of the Mexico Volunteer Fire Department, students received a hands-on lesson in vehicle extrication under the guidance of instructors Mark Bender and Chuck Gabriel.
