SUNY Oswego’s 52nd annual Juried Student Exhibition will open with a free public reception for the artists from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 17, in Tyler Art Gallery at Penfield Library. Entry is open to any SUNY Oswego student in any artistic medium, whether two- or three-dimensional. The exhibition will run through Nov. 9 in the gallery’s second-floor display space.
On October 3 (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.) and October 4 (9 a.m. – 1 p.m.) First United Church of Fulton, 33 S. Third St., will hold its annual ‘Fall Fling’ Rummage Sale. There will be a continuous bake sale and a light lunch available both days.
On Thursday, October 2, Weaver’s Mercantile & Co. Flea Market, located at 2403A State Route 49 in West Monroe, will open its doors to the public. The store will have more than 20 vendors with an array of items

The $58,000 grant, “Population Monitoring and Habitat Monitoring for the Bog Turtle at Two Sites in the Prairie Peninsula and Lake Plains Recovery Unit of New York,” gives Rosenbaum the opportunity to continue a research interest of more than a quarter-century and to intensively assess a rediscovered bog turtle site and a historically well-known one as part in a large, mult-istate monitoring project.
DuFore’s Jewelers of Oswego recently donated a necklace replica of the West Pierhead Lighthouse to be auctioned at the Lighthouse Auction on October 25. All proceeds made at the auction will benefit the Lighthouse Restoration Project. The genuine sterling silver and gemstone necklace is valued at $695.
