A tradition of excellence continues for the Phoenix Central School District. The district’s percussion ensemble captured first place in the New York State Percussion Circuit Championships on April 6. The 22-member state champion group consists of students in grades eight through twelve who are more than just musicians.

The Blue Team at Oswego County BOCES Stepping Stones Day Program in Fulton recently entered the 2014 “Made By Milk” carton construction contest. Made by Milk is a national contest, offering a chance to win up to $5,000 for school and community projects.
Residents at Bishop’s Commons welcomed Oswego County Sheriff Reuel Todd who took the opportunity to present some tips to help seniors avoid falling victim to scams or consumer fraud.
The H. Lee White Maritime Museum is pleased to host the second history lecture of the 2014 series on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The topic will be “Battle Island, July 3, 1756: Ambush on the Oswego River.” presented by historian Steve Wapen. The program will be held at the museum and is open to the public.

Recently, Dave Bullard was inducted as the newest member of Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club. Dave was a founding member in 1999 of the Sunrise Rotary and we welcome him back.
On April 26 participating chiropractors will offer chiropractic treatments for current and former patients, as well as examinations for new patients in exchange for a $20 donation to the United Way of Greater Oswego County.
