Now chairman and chief executive officer of W.R. Grace & Co., Alfred “Fred” Festa gained experience and acumen as he ascended the management ranks over two decades with General Electric, Allied Signal, ICG Commerce and Morgenthaler Private Equity Partners.
On December 8, Lake Ontario Commandery No 32 and Watertown Commandery No. 11 welcomed Sir Knight Kenneth I. Sussman, Grand Commander New York Grand Commandery, for its annual Christmas Toast at Lake City Lodge in Oswego.
Catholic Charities Emergency Services assistant Danielle Lundy and Executive Director Mary-Margaret Pezzella-Pekow accepted a donation to the agency’s food pantry from Rob Maher of Family Video, 104 W. Broadway in Fulton. Family Video donated 11 turkeys for Christmas food baskets.
“The Next Great Idea: 2014 Oswego County Business Plan Competition” has announced this year’s competition, which culminates with $25,000 awarded to the winner at an awards luncheon in November 2014, said Austin Wheelock, Co-Chair of the NGI Steering Committee. The NGI competition will begin accepting Business Concept Proposals January 22 through April 11, 2014.
The sixth grade team at the Kingsford Park Elementary School decided to “sweeten up” the New York State Modules by implementing the lesson on the “Division of Fractions” to making gingerbread ornaments. Students enjoyed the undertaking and gathered with some of the products they used or produced.
The third annual Family Christmas Experience for our friends and neighbors will be hosted by the Open Doors Neighborhood Center of First United Church of Fulton on Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This event is free of any charge.
Darlene McDougall, site supervisor / apartment counselor at OCO’s Arbor House and Kalene Fischer, apartment treatment counselor, OCO Mental Health Transitional Living Services, were recently recognized with longevity awards.
Staff of the Oswego County Department of Social Services recently held a book, music and video sale to benefit United Way of Greater Oswego County. Held annually, the book sale is one of two benefits that DSS staff do to augment their donations to United Way.
