Granby Elementary School students lined the hallways and members of the school band played the Olympic theme as students from Mary Throne’s Oswego County BOCES special education class at the school, boarded buses for transport to the Central New York Special Olympics.

The following students received awards at Moving-Up Day ceremonies held on April 27 at St. Lawrence University in Canton.

OCO Health Services has found a new home at a familiar location for its Reproductive Health Center in Oswego. Still located inside the Oswego Health Center at 10 George St., OCO’s Oswego Reproductive Health Center has moved to a new area in Suite 100 and expanded its office space to better serve its patients.

Emily Meyers, a sophomore English Education major of Central Square  was among approximately 1,500 Bob Jones University students who were named to the Spring 2013 Dean’s List.

The Principal Financial Group announces Fran Hoefer has joined its Upstate New York Business Center. Hoefer will serve as a financial advisor, financial representative and princor registered representative, serving Oswego and surrounding areas

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Carol Vescio introduced Nancy Fox, director of the CNY Arts Center and Bonnie McClellan, a member of the Art Center, who will oversee the new art gallery. The art gallery will give artists an opportunity to exhibit their artwork to the public hoping to
generate awareness, sales and demand for regional art.

Students enrolled in the Public Safety and Justice program at Oswego County BOCES learned last week what it means to ‘take a bite out of crime.’ Mark Bender, the students’ instructor and a full-time New York State Trooper brought his canine partner, Mandin, in to the class for a live demonstration.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Erica J. Cruz-Reyes has graduated from the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Power School at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Goose Creek, S.C.
