Sandy Creek High School students, who have volunteered their time to become “fairy godmothers” for Cinderella’s Closet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 23 at the Make Sense Shop in Pulaski, were busy sorting through some of the dresses that will be distributed to area prom-goers.
Plans are under way for one of the area’s premier fundraising events, the Oswego Christian Community School’s sixth annual auction. Scheduled for April 20 the auction will be held from 1 – 4 p.m. at Oswego Elks Lodge #271, corner of West Fifth and Bridge streets in Oswego.
CYO Program Coordinator, George Timmins announced that the CYO program of Catholic Charities of Oswego County would be extending its hours and offering additional gym time for the upcoming spring break.
Oswego County Farm Bureau President Nancy Weber, along with New York State FFA Association President Amanda Rhodes, met recently with the Oswego County Board of Cooperative Educational Services. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the development of an enhanced agricultural education program and the eventual startup of a local FFA Chapter in Oswego County
The Oswego County Historical Society’s 26th Annual “Not So Silent Auction” will be held on April 19 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at The American Foundry at 246 W. Seneca St. Tickets for the event are $20 and will be sold at the door.
Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s CYO program invites area youth to join them for Easter Fun Day on March 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hundreds of community members filled the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center to enjoy some hot wings and cold micro-brews at the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County’s second annual Chicken Wing and Micro-Brew Fest. The event raised more than $10,000 to help support the agency’s efforts to combat and prevent child abuse in Oswego County.
“Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo” provided a magical moment as the Minetto Elementary School students presented this year’s musical “Cinderella” on stage at the Oswego High School Robinson-Faust Theatre for the Performing Arts.
Morgan Frederick was inducted March 3 into the Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society. This membership is a significant honor in recognition of Morgan Frederick’s record of academic distinction. Morgan will be able to participate in an annual conference, to compete for writing prizes, scholarships, and internships.
