Oswego County Joins 511NY Transit Planning Service

The Oswego County Department of Mobility Management announced today that Oswego County can now be found on 511NY, an all-encompassing telephone and web service that provides information to travelers on transportation services and road conditions. The service includes a free trip planner that riders can use to help navigate their connections between local Oswego Public Transit buses and other transportation systems.

Youth Group Raises Funds For Victory Transformation, Mexico United Methodist Church With Cardboard Village

The joint youth group from Lycoming and Mexico First United Methodist Church (MFUMC) raised nearly $2,200 with a cardboard village and MFUMC baby bottle drive that benefited the church and the hungry and homeless served by Victory Transformation Center (VTC) of Oswego. The church and VTC each received $1,000.

SUNY Chancellor King Marks Hunger Action Month And Launches $1 Million In SUNY Campus Programs To Combat Food Insecurity

In recognition of September as Hunger Action Month, State University of New York Chancellor John B. King, Jr. today announced $1 million of dedicated ongoing state-supported operating funding to provide sustainable financial assistance for SUNY campus food pantries. The funding is part of New York State’s historic investment in higher education approved by Governor Hochul and state legislators in the 2023/24 Enacted State Budget. In Chancellor King’s State of the University Address, he outlined his vision to combat food insecurity by investing in food, supplies, and staff time to help ensure the food pantries remain stocked, open, and accessible to students in need.
