Oswego Library Closed For Thanksgiving
In celebration of Thanksgiving, the Oswego Public Library will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 22 and 23. We will reopen on Saturday at noon.

The program currently serves 58 families a month in Oswego County. It is a federally funded program, but the federal funds are passed down to the non-profit organization through the county Department of Social Services.
The Society rang in its 40th Anniversary with a well-attended dinner and dance on November 10. More than 80 people were in and out for the evening of good food, great music and a lot of laughs.
Four SUNY Oswego candidates for the master of arts degree will display their work in an exhibition starting with a free public reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 30, in Tyler Art Gallery.
“As we head into the busy holiday season, make sure you add getting a flu shot to the top of your list,” said Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang. “Flu activity is unpredictable but often peaks in January or February. Cases of flu have been reported in Oswego County and across New York State already.”
The emotional ceremony provided students and faculty with an opportunity to celebrate their patriotism and pay special tribute to nearly 50 local veterans who served or are currently serving in our country’s armed forces.
The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Student Government Club hosted the 26th Annual Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner on November 15 at the APW Junior/Senior High School Cafeteria.
Granby Elementary School welcomed a special visit last week by famed husband and wife author and illustrator team, Mary Jane and Herm Auch. The Auchs stopped by the school to visit with students in the grades three through six.
As part of the shared decision making model adopted by the Fulton City School District, site based committees from each school building gathered recently for their annual meeting to discuss student performance, educational programs and initiatives as well as look at what to anticipate in the future.
Oswego Harborfest will conduct its off-season “Community Feedback Night” on December 11 in the McCrobie Building ballroom, at 41 Lake St.
