Troy Pepper loves a challenge and the classics. He will get both with the Oswego Players’ upcoming production of, “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Melanie Trexler, executive director, United Way of Greater Oswego County, received the Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Award from the Zonta Club of Oswego during a dinner held in her honor at the American Foundry in Oswego.

Oswego County District 21, Al-Anon Family Group, is hosting an annual “Day of Sharing” on November 17 at All Saints Church, 149 South First and Academy streets, in Fulton.

If you’re a civilian, I encourage you reach out to a soldier this holiday season to let them know you appreciate all they do.  If you’re a veteran or are currently serving in the military, I thank you.

The meeting will be called to order at 5 p.m., but the board is expected to enter executive session for the purpose of legal discussion in regards to litigation, teacher tenure and a discussion relating to a specific employee. At approximately 6 p.m. the board will reconvene the public meeting.

The Hannibal Historical Society will be selling pewter Christmas tree ornaments from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on November 17 and 18 at the Festival of Trees being held at the Community Center on Oswego Street. Ornaments are $15 apiece.

This season’s charitable partners for Port City Roller Derby (formerly the Oz Roller Girls) have included the Oswego County SPCA, which will hold its annual Howliday Auction and Fundraiser on Nov. 18 at Fallbrook Recreation Center
