Recently, the art work of Oswego City School District students was on display at the New York State School Boards Association annual conference in Rochester.

CYO hosted a Family Halloween Party and a Halloween Dance for youth in grades 7 through 12.

The Fairgrieve Elementary School Harvest Festival which celebrates nature, the changing season, fall activities and interests, and of course the bountiful harvest that farmers and growers reap during this season, was held on October 31 at the school.

Collaboration plus outstanding effort equals success at Granby Elementary School. Students from Caitlin Besio’s fifth and sixth grade classroom along with students from Joseph McNamara’s sixth grade classroom are an example of this type of success.

High school seniors, along with their parents, are invited to attend this free workshop to find out more information about one of the most important steps of college admissions, the financial aid process.

On November 11, the Oswego County Humane Society will put up its annual “Light Up Their Lives” outdoor scoreboard to track its progress with pet adoptions during the 14th Annual Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption campaign.

Joey Occhino, owner of Vona’s Restaurant, will be providing the next Guest Chef  Dinner at the Oswego County Salvation Army on November 13, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for dining in or taking out, at the Citadel, 73 W. Second St.

Local residents know the holiday season is near when they see Troop/Pack 830 Scouts canvassing the area one day each November. This year the “Scouting for Food” community service project is November 17.

On one Sunday each month First United Church of Fulton, 33 S. Third St., Fulton, continues to show, free of charge, full-length movies. This month, however, the movie will be a 1955 comedy-drama about life on the high seas during World War II fitting for the celebration of our veterans.
