The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, a division of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, is now accepting registrations for “6 Steps to Better Balance,” to begin Nov. 14, at Palermo Town Hall.

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, President Patrick Waite introduced  Margaret Streitenberger, author and Jim Arnold, illustrator. They presented their story of getting together to publish their books.

There will be an onstage reunion when pianist Robert Auler of SUNY Oswego appears with the Symphony Syracuse regional orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17, in Waterman Theatre on campus.

Students are eligible for membership based on their grade point average, community service hours and active membership in a Greek fraternity or sorority.

Students were treated to lunch with Granby Elementary Principal Heather Perry, where they discussed their accomplishments during the first month of school.

Unique Hair Shoppe & Nails of Elegance in Fulton have partnered with Oswego County Opportunities’ Cancer Services Program to raise awareness of breast cancer and support the agency’s efforts to reduce breast cancer rates in Oswego County.

Emily Bradshaw, a 12-year-old seventh grade student from Oswego spoke to the Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club recently about her crusade to have a homeless shelter in the area.

DEAR, Drop Everything And Read, was celebrated at the school as part of the school’s Read 100K reading incentive. The day-long celebration of reading entitled Celebrate Literacy included many other activities and events centered around literacy.

Members of the Lacona Fire Department recently spent a morning at Sandy Creek Elementary School teaching students about fire safety and prevention.
