Stacie Roberts, coordinator of Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s CYO program, announced that Dr. Walter Bozek, DDS of Oswego and Hair Hut in Fulton will be a part of the CYO Back to School Youth Fair.

On Sept. 16, the Hannibal Democratic Committee will host a steak bake and corn roast picnic/family fun day at Scott’s Pond in Hannibal to benefit the Oswego County Democratic Committee.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. whistle for this clash of roller derby teams from Oswego and Syracuse in a superhero-themed bout titled Star Pass of Doom.

Line dance Instruction will begin on Tuesday and will continue on the following Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m.: Sept. 18, 25 and Oct. 9,  23 and 30, announced dance instructor Phil Eno.

The lottery and barbecue are both are scheduled for Sept. 23 at the Oswego Elks Club.

Oswego County residents have until the end of September to get rid of household hazardous waste products at the county’s disposal facility in Volney. The collection facility is open Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 to 11 a.m.

Continental Arms Collectors Association, will feature a Revolutionary War encampment at Behling’s Orchard, Potter Road, Mexico. It is scheduled for Sept. 16 from noon to 3:30 p.m.

The Lake Ontario Tributary Anglers Council (LOTAC) will kick off National Hunting and Fishing Day activities at the Salmon River Fish Hatchery with a fishing seminar Friday evening September 21 entitled “King Salmon: Outside the Box.”

Through their hydrant testing program, the department has been testing and painting the tops per NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) guidelines. The different colors indicate the amount of water flow for that particular hydrant which will improve overall efficiency.
