Oswego County Opportunities, one of the top 10 largest private employers in Oswego County, has welcomed eleven new members to the agency’s staff. The new employees have recently completed the agency’s orientation process and will begin to serve consumers in their respective programs.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students much have an academic average between 3.5 and 4.0.

An all Fulton community Good Friday Cross Walk, April 6, will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Holy Trinity Parish, 309 Buffalo St. This annual event is sponsored by the Greater Fulton Area Council of Christian Churches.

Campaign Coordinators Kathy Fenlon and John Ferry, along with the campaign team for Oswego County Government were honored during the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s annual Salute to Volunteers held March 14 at The American Foundry in Oswego.

The Fulton Elks will be serving fish dinners (and other choices) every Friday through April 6. Serving will be from 5 – 7 p.m. in the lodge hall at 57 Pierce Drive. Dinners are open to the public and takeouts are available.

The principals’ group, known as the Oswego County Administrators included BOCES’ Director of Career and Technical Education Ronald Camp; Brian Schmitt, Hannibal High School principal; Brian Buchanan, assistant principal at G. Ray Bodley High School; and Jamie Coppola, Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School principal.

The Utica National School Safety Excellence Awards Program is divided into three levels – titanium, platinum and gold. OCB earned the highest merit of distinction in the program, the titanium with honors award.

On March 31, come to the Oswego County War of 1812 Symposium and hear about military strategies, civilian life and the Native American influence on the war as fighting broke out along the New York-Canadian border.

The luncheon provided member agencies and their employees with an opportunity to get together and share a meal with the staff and board members of the United Way as well as community members who proudly support the efforts of the United Way.
