OCO Couch Surfing Event To Raise Awareness Of Oswego County’s Homeless

Hundreds Enjoy Feast At Fitzhugh Park

The annual Thanksgiving dinner was held at the Fitzhugh Park Elementary School. More than 200 adults joined 337 students to partake in the feast. The meal was prepared by the Oswego City School District School Lunch personnel.

Rotarians Meet Students of the Month

Each month the Fulton Rotary Club invites two Seniors from G. Ray Bodley High School to share the experiences that high school students have today and give the students a chance to experience what a service club is.  Dan Whal, left, and Amanda Tetro were introduced by Rotarian Mike Bonning.  Both students are members of the National Honor Society, participate in sports, drama and work on community service projects.  Dan is planning on majoring in chemical engineering at Clarkson or R.I.T. after graduation.  Amanda plans on attending Syracuse University and majoring in advertising. Each month the Fulton Rotary Club invites two Seniors from G. Oswego County BOCES Students Give the Gift of Art

Students at the Oswego County BOCES Fourth Street School in Fulton honored Veteran’s Day by participating in an initiative with the National Museum of the Marine Corps. Students in Lorie Trump’s class gave wounded veterans the gift of art and pictured above are Dylan Recore, Nathan Huffman, Justin Jackowski and Alex Brown with some of their patriotic creations. The artwork above will be shipped to the National Museum of Marine Corps in Washington, DC and will be used to decorate recovery facilities and brighten the days of wounded soldiers.Students at the Oswego County BOCES Fourth Street School in Fulton honored Veteran’s Day by participating in an initiative with the National Museum of the Marine Corps.

APW Students Support Drug Free Campaign

Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Middle School students Taylor Matlock, Peyton Nadeau, Mikayla Collins, and Megan Hart captured first place in a bookmark contest sponsored by the APW Operation Snowbelt organization. This district-wide competition at the school district was held in conjunction with a national drug free campaign called Red Ribbon Week and required students, working individually or with a group, to design an anti-drug, anti-alcohol, or drug prevention themed bookmark. The four sixth grade students, pictured above, were selected as the first place winner and are wearing their prize, a drug free t-shirt. Operation Snowbelt is a community-based alcohol and other drug use prevention program focusing on empowering youth, families, schools, and communities to lead drug-free lives.
