Sam Reakes from the Collision and Repair Center at Reymour Chevrolet examines the progress that student Pat Violando, Central Square, makes in repairing a vehicle’s fender during the auto body repair competition at Oswego County BOCES.Students in Rich Rainville’s Auto Body Repair class at Oswego County BOCES put their skills and knowledge to the test for a timed classroom competition that simulated a day in the life of an auto body repair technician.

Let’s Have a Good Old Summertime!

The Oswego County Historical Society has scheduled the “Good Old Summertime Victorian Picnic” for Sunday, June 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. on the lawn of the Richardson-Bates House Museum, 135 E. Third St., Oswego. Shown discussing plans for the event, from left, are Board of Trustees member Peg McKinstry, AmeriCorps volunteer Kristian Woolley, and event chairperson Lyn Patterson. The lunch auction part of the event will be held at 2 p.m.  Other picnic activities will include family games, old-fashioned music, and lots of fun! For more information contact chairperson Patterson, phone 343-2343 or museum, phone 343-1342.The highlight of the picnic will be a “Lunch-in-a-Basket” auction at 2 p.m. Professional auctioneer Ted Sivers has volunteered to run this exciting event and many local businesses and groups will provide the wonderful lunches for four people to be auctioned off.
