December Graduates Preparing for Next Opportunities

History major Brianne Welser's studies have spanned the globe, including Oswego's study-abroad "History of Human Trafficking" course in India. Her future after graduation in December will take her to the Mississippi Delta through the Teach for America program.More than 600 SUNY Oswego students — around 500 of them undergraduates — are eligible to take part in Commencement on Dec. 18, and many are ready for the next step in their lives.

New Oswego Course Shows English Majors Where Words Can Lead

Senior English majors Anthony Catalano and James Paladino work on their projects for the new alternative English capstone course "Words in the World." The course places students in work assignments utilizing their writing and creative skills.   A new capstone course option for SUNY Oswego English majors partners them with work placements. “Words in the World” brings to light the variety of uses, vocational opportunities and career possibilities for students of English.
