Stargazers’ Night Set At Marine Muesum

Some of the topics to be covered in the presentation include how families and caregivers can be involved in the transition process; how to assist an individual in exploring the world outside of school, and choosing whether or not to work; eligibility issues for agency services; how income and benefits impact one another; available services and opportunities for adults with disabilities in the community; and accessing those services as well as transportation.
Join the Friends of the Library at noon every Tuesday in October to learn all about a fascinating book. Each week a speaker will review a different title, answer questions, and everyone can enjoy the refreshments.
Mayor Randolph Bateman has announced that a meeting will be held on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the EconoLodge to enable the community to discuss ways to improve fishing safety on the Oswego River.
The Oswego City School District Board of Education has adopted the “Committee System†and therefore the dates for this year’s meetings will be changed. The originally scheduled meeting for today (Oct. 5) will not be conducted.

Best-selling author Julie Powell will be the guest speaker at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County’s Harvest Dinner on Friday, October 22nd at the American Foundry in Oswego.
The Oswego County Airport will be closed to all air traffic for about a week, beginning Monday, Oct. 4. The county will mill, resurface and groove the intersection of runways 6 – 24 and 15 – 33. Depending on the weather, the project is expected to take from five to seven days.
Several of the historical organizations in Oswego County will participate in this year’s Archives Day by having their facilities open for tours. The event will occur on Saturday, October 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Special historical treasures will be on display at all of the facilities, so everyone is encouraged to take a wonderful “history trip†around the county on that day!
