Create Summer Memories: Host a New York City “Fresh Air” Child This Summer

Shown in photo are local Fresh Air Host families and their New  York City Fresh Air children feeding the horses at Bayshore Grove,  Oswego. Earlier in the day, they enjoyed a family picnic hosted by the  owners of Bayshore Grove.Thanks to the many families in this area and throughout 13 northeastern states and Canada, more than 1.7 million New York City children from low-income neighborhoods have experienced free summer vacations through the Fresh Air Fund since 1877.

Legislature Proclaims June as Dairy Month

Oswego County Legislator Barbara Brown recently presented a  proclamation to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County and the  Oswego County Dairy Promotion Committee which designates June as Dairy  Month. Dairy farming is an important part of a healthy food economy. It  leads agriculture as one of the top industries in New York State and  represents a valuable market in Oswego County.
