Pebbles is a six year old who has been diagnosed with Wilms tumors – cancerous tumors on the kidney-July 1, 2007. Also called nephroblastoma, it is the most common form of childhood kidney cancer.

State Senate Passes Bill to Open Up “Custom Crush†Wine Sales
State Sen. Darrel J. Aubertine, chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee, said today that a bill passed in the Senate to allow the state’s winemaking industry to engage in “custom crush†sales will enable a growing segment of the state’s agriculture industry to build on its recent success.

Champion Weightlifter Honored By Legislature
The Oswego County Legislature recognized champion weightlifter Juan R. Collazo with a certificate at their December meeting. The 61-year-old Fulton resident is coached by Dave Eddy, also of Fulton, and currently holds five state records, five national records and two world records.

Quarterly Siren Tests Scheduled Feb. 1 – 5
The Oswego County Emergency Management Office announces that the system of emergency notification sirens surrounding the three nuclear power plants at Nine Mile Point will be tested during the week of February 1 through 5. Tests will be conducted between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. This quarterly testing will include individual activation of each siren.
