The Bristol Hill U.C.C. on Rt. 3 in Volney will be hosting a Roast Pork Dinner to raise money for the restoration of the bell tower. This fundraiser dinner will be on Sunday December 13 from 12 noon to 5 P.M. Prices are: Adults $7, Children 6-12 $3.50, Children 5 and under – free.

Oswego Industries Inc Receives Donated Display Unit

Oswego Industries, Inc. recently received a donation of a three-door, refrigerated soda display unit from Tom Rookey of Sackets Harbor. The display unit is being used in the nonprofit’s “Fun Rock Cafe,” which is both a cafeteria for staff and program participants and a job training program for adults with disabilities.

Christmas Harp Recital at Half-Shire

Kelsey Munz, an accomplished harpist from Osceola New York will play a selection of Christmas music for this free concert. This years event will be held in memory of the late Pearl Flagg Bontomaise, a member of the society who recently passed away.

West Baptist Church Holds Advent Concert

The concert will start with a Thanksgiving piece followed by the Advent chorale Ã¢â‚¬Å“Wachet AufÃ¢â‚¬Â and then moving to such holiday favorites as Ã¢â‚¬Å“Hark the Herald Angels SingÃ¢â‚¬Â and Ã¢â‚¬Å“Silent Night.Ã¢â‚¬Â The concert will feature the brass ensemble separately and together and is an excellent way to spend the first Sunday of Advent.

New Law Cracks Down on DWI Offenders

New York recently took another important step toward tougher penalties for DWI offenders. LeandraÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Law was signed by the Governor last week. LeandraÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Law makes driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol with a child a felony. The law also makes New York one of a dozen states to require all convicted drunken drivers use an ignition interlock device, which prevents them from driving their car if they are drunk.
