Oswego Salvation Army Receives Donation From Canale’s Restaurant
The Oswego Salvation Army was recently the recipient of a $500 donation from Canale’s Restaurant. The restaurant held a fundraising event with 20% percent of each meal donated back to the Army’s “I Believe†Capital Campaign.

Support Group Reaches Out to Those Affected by Separation or Divorce
DivorceCare offers support, guidance and understanding for those experiencing the pain and confusion felt from either a separation or divorce. DivorceCare is a 13-week program but is structured so that participants can join at any time. The program features nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics teaching through video seminars combined with support group discussions.

DSS Hosts Orientation Meeting Oct. 3
The Oswego County Department of Social Services sponsors an orientation meeting every month for people interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents. The next meeting will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Department of Social Services, 100 Spring St., Mexico.

Louella LeClair Announces her Re-Election bid for the Oswego County Legislature 25th District
LeClair is a native Fultonian, and lives at 509 Pratt Street. She has three adult children, seven grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She is an active member of several community organizations. LeClair recently retired from the Oswego County Weeklies so she can devote more time and energy serving the people of Fulton and the greater Oswego County residents.

Parents of Children with Special Needs Get Information on Multiple Local Programs and Services
The evening, offered Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at ARC of Oswego’s Fun Rock Café, will feature presenters from at least ten different agencies that offer programs and services. Parents can learn about available recreation and respite programs, athletic opportunities, guardianship assistance, residential habilitation, advocacy groups, and more.

Olivia VanSanford, Executive Director of the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County (CAC) announced that the center’s 6th Annual “Blue Ribbon Ride†Against Child Abuse raised more than $3,000 to help support the agency’s efforts to combat and prevent child abuse in Oswego County.

The United Way of Greater Oswego County got its annual campaign off to an inspiring start with a special breakfast held Wednesday, September 9th at the American Foundry in Oswego. Those in attendance learned of the impact that the United Way has on the lives of thousands of families in Oswego County and that how reaching out a hand to one can influence the condition of all.
